Very, very friendly staff that make the place somewhere you want to be.Food menu is varied as well as reasonably priced with deals in evenings or certain times during the day, or during sporting games.A variety of drinks available as well as hot drinks.Card machine has been unreliable at times but out of the majority of visits it has been functioning--that aside there is a cashpoint 2mins down the road.Close to the bus route and can seat large groups.Sheltered smoking area outside and seating outside.Entertainment advertised indoors that cater for all adults
Great pub with a great atmosphere and good prices. Might have just found my new local.
We had our work Christmas party at Thirsty Scholar. The pub was so cosy and festive inside and we were sat next to a lovely wood burning stove which added to the homely atmosphere. We each had three courses and not a single one disappointed. The food was delicious, well presented and good portion sizes. The staff were so helpful and friendly. We will certainly return in the New Year!
